Keeping it Calm, Essential when it comes to Sports Betting by Mitko Atanasov
If you are about to get into sports betting, or you are already in it, you have to know that it's not all fun and laughs. There will be periods of time, sometimes shorter, sometimes longer, when nothing is going to go your way, when your football predictions will slip away in the 92nd minute and your percentage will fall.
This is something you have to remember, if you want to get through with it. Getting mad and frustrated will only extend this period of time. I know that most beginners keep that hope that this will never ever happen to them, and that they will be an exception, because they follow the "Holy Grail", but even so that day will come, trust me. And when it does and you are flying around in the clouds, you are going to hit the ground hard, and it's going to hurt.
So here are few tips that will actually prepare you for such days, weeks, months and keep you strong while they last. Always act if there was no yesterday. In order to be able to feel great today, and make your predictions as focused as you can be, you must forget yesterday's failures. There was a book that I have read some months ago, and when they asked this famous NFL coach, what were the essential qualities of a good quarterback, he replied "A damn short memory"
Why? Why was a short memory the key to being good in such sports as football? Because you wouldn't care about the first 300 times that you threw that ball and you made a bad pass. You would just simply not remember the unsuccessful attempts. Do you see how this relates to sports bets, and sports bettors and tipsters?
In order to keep on making correct picks, you just have to neglect your mistakes! Learn from them, don't keep them to blame yourself.
Keep it calm! As long as you are calm, you can stay focused on your analysis and go with what they tell you to. Getting frustrated will only blur your vision and thoughts with emotional pain and will make you go for either the higher odds, or the team you are consciously or subconsciously supporting. You do not want that, you are neither God nor a psychic, you need your analysis and you need to do what they tell you to do.
A break from sports betting for a while can be exactly what you need when a "losing" period comes up. It will help you to clear your mind, bring back your self-esteem so you can be ready to analyze and pick again. Do you know how many times I have been asked "Hey, help me out here with the betting slip, I feel like I don't have the hunch any more".
That's all in your mind only of course, but it's a clear sign that you need a break.
Keeping these tips in mind will help you deal with possible failures in the future. Remember that you are not alone here and we are here to help you.
